Run For Kaakbay
On October 18, 2008, Mr. Joven Cerdenia runs the Detroit Free Press Marathon to raise funds for Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center. Joven finished the 40-km marathon clocking in at 4 hours and 20 min to finish the event participated by more than 18,000 runners.

KAAKBAY succesfully accomplished a seminar on
DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center effectively held a seminar entitled Developmental Disabilities: ADHD, ADD, Autism and Learning Disability in Focus. Dr. Leticia Penano-Ho, a world-renowned clinical psychologist, guidance counselor and educator and the current Chair and President of the Philippine Association for the Gifted, shared her valuable time and expertise to be the resource speaker of the said seminar held at Davao Christian High School Audio Visual Room on October 11, 2008.

KAAKBAY held annual strategic planning and Teambuilding in 2009
Staff and Volunteers of Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center had their annual Strategic Planning and Teambuilding Activities in Island Garden City of Samal on February 21-22, 2009. Through this activity action plan and calendar of activities for the year 2009 was formulated, actual budget for year 2008 and the proposed budget form 2009 was presented, and the camaraderie among the staff and volunteers were strengthened.

KAAKBAY PARTICIPATES IN PAHALIPAY SA PERSONS WITH DIABILITIES
The Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center Volunteers and Staff rendered their services during the PAHALIPAY SA PWD’s on April 17, 2009 at Malagos Watershed, Baguio District, Calinan, Davao City. The said event was organized by the City Planning Office of the Local Government Unit of Davao City. It was participated by various organizations that are especially concerned with the welfare of the disabled member of the population. A total of 156 persons with disability benefited from the program.

In Camping We Will Go!
A Day Camp lets 64 special kids currently enrolled at Physical, Occupational Therapy and Special Education program of Kaakbay Rehabilitation Center get their kicks during their summer activity this year 2009. The fun activities include arts and craft, storytelling, hotdog grilling, parlor games and obstacle courses. The kids were ably assisted by the caregiver trainees from ACTECH of Kidapawan and Psychology interns of San Pedro College.
