Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a health profession whose primary purpose is the promotion of optimal human health and function through the application of scientific principles to prevent, identify, assess, correct or alleviate acute or prolonged movement dysfunction. It uses different approaches to promote healing such as therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, heat, light, and cold to improve patient condition.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is a rehabilitation profession that caters to clients of all ages who have physical, developmental, emotional and social deficits and because of these conditions, need specialized assistance in learning skills to enable them lead an independent and productive lives.
The recipients of our occupational therapy services are those with:

Special Education

Special Education is a program for children with special needs making use of individualized educational program. It targets different levels of learning using a variety of instructional methods, curriculum resources and materials. It aims to develop the child's independence in cognitive, oral language, aesthestic, behavioral and social skills.
This program provides services to individuals with:

Advocacy Programs

As part of its role in advocating a healthy and well-informed residents of the community, the Physical Therapists of KAAKBAY provide health awareness lectures focusing on different leading causes of disabilities to different barangays and ways to prevent it. T
here are also plans to establish a Stroke Support Group in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-XI and provide more seminars and workshops to barangay health workers of the different health centers in Davao City.
KAAKBAY is an active member of the City Council for the Welfare of Persons With Disabilities (CCWPWD). It takes part in the annual "Kamp Pag-Asa", a summer camp for children with disabilities and an advocate for the promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities. It also actively participates in the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week celebrations held every 3rd week of July. Mr. Eric Papas, a stroke survivor, is the representative of KAAKBAY to different disability-related gatherings in Davao City.
